Database System Engineer (2401)

6 Months Contract in Plano, TX 75024

Candidates should be local to the Dallas metro area. Will consider candidates from immediate surrounding areas.

Note :- Database System Engineer (not a DBA), Resumes should clearly articulate Database System Engineer related tasks and activities. If the resumes just portray DBA work, your resume will be rejected.

Job Description :-

Designs and builds relational databases.
Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database.
Cleans and maintains the database by removing and deleting old data.
May require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 2 - 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Must have a working knowledge designing, developing and manipulating databases, data warehouses and multidimensional databases.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks.
Works under general supervision; typically reports to a project leader or manager.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. 
Oracle DBA experience - on both Intel and Unix (HP / AIX)
Installing Oracle
Upgrading oracle
Oracle RAC experience on Linux in a large shop, with a large deployment
Backup / recovery using RMAN
Performance tuning
Can demonstrate previous implementation of proactive monitoring of a database
Unix Korn shell scripting
Perl scripting
Excellent communication skills
